Pantone's 2012 Color- Tangerine Tango

Provocative Tangerine Tango (Pantone 17-1463) is an enticing juicy orange, it's a vivacious & appealing refresher to enliven anyone's outlook for this spring. Here is why Pantone picked the reddish-Orange for this year's color of the year:

Tangerine Tango, a spirited reddish orange, continues to provide the energy boost we need to recharge & move forward.

“Sophisticated but at the same time dramatic & seductive, Tangerine Tango is an orange with a lot of depth to it,” said Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Color Institute®. “Reminiscent of the radiant shadings of a sunset, Tangerine Tango marries the vivaciousness & adrenaline rush of red with the friendliness & warmth of yellow, to form a high-visibility, magnetic hue that emanates heat & energy.”

Over the past several years, orange has grown in popularity & acceptance among designers & consumers alike. A provocative attention-getter, Tangerine Tango is especially appealing in men’s & women’s fashion. Fashion designers featured in the PANTONE Fashion Color Report Spring 2012, including Tommy Hilfiger, Nanette Lepore, Cynthia Steffe by Shaun Kearney, Elie Tahari & Adrienne Vittadini, are incorporating this attractive orange into their spring collections. A fun, lively take on a traditional autumnal hue, Tangerine Tango will surely carry through to fall fashion as well.

A winner in cosmetics because of its versatility, Tangerine Tango is a bit exotic, but in a very friendly, non-threatening way. Add a sultry flair to lips, cheeks & nails with Tangerine Tango. An unexpected eye shadow color, Tangerine Tango is a complementary opposite that flatters blue or green eyes. When paired with brown eyes, it brings out an amber cast.

Energize interior spaces with Tangerine Tango patterned home accessories. Pillows, bedspreads & tabletop accessories in this high-impact hue add spice to any room. Or incorporate Tangerine Tango appliances & personal electronics for an unexpected pop of color. Looking for an inexpensive way to perk up your home? Paint a wall in Tangerine Tango for a dynamic burst of energy in the kitchen, entryway or hallway.

Here are some great inspirations on how to incorporate the yummy color of 2012!

Color Inspiration #4

Hello all! I hope you are having a bright & cheery Wednesday!! I am bringing you all my fourth installment of color inspiration today on the 4th day of this brand new year- I hope everyone had a beautiful New Years!

Recently, I have been researching & finding pictures for a potential project in Austin, TX. This particular project is near to my heart because, well I am part hippie...or like to think I am anyway. Back to the story, everyone here at the design firm I work at have to contribute 15 total images that we think represent Austin. Everyone thinks of longhorns, UT, & music such as ACL & SXSW. However, when I hear Austin I think arsty, hippies, food trucks, & being one with nature. So on my quest to discover unique images I found a couple images down in Austin of a couple trees that had been "knit bombed" by Knitta Please (learn more about the group here).

Has anyone heard of this "knit bombing" or "yarn bombing"? I didn't know it was called that before my research but, I have noticed every once in awhile when I go to Micheals craft store the columns in front are covered in knit. I think this concept of making street graffiti a little more warm & cozy is a fabulous idea! Plus, it brings a little inspiring color into the world! I kind of touched on this subject a while back with parisian potholes were being decorated by activist Juliana Santacruz Herrera- check my post out here.

Without further anticipation, here are a couple "knit bombing" episodes I find inspiring!

Have a happy colorful day!

Items for Holiday Gift Wrapping....

Have you finished your Holiday shopping yet?  I sure hope so since we only have a couple more days until Christmas! Right now, I am right in the middle of a wrapping fiasco! I only have a couple hours until I leave for back home for the Holidays & I am doing some last minute present wrapping.

What type of yummy wrapping paper do you prefer? Something festive, creative, or simple?

I have to admit, I've always tried to cordinate the gift wrap or creatively wrap my gifts (at least recently)....I might even be a little obsessive about finding the right wrapping paper for each person. I want it to be very personal; made just for them. However, this time I don't think these are my best, but they are still creative!

Well today, I'm hoping some of you will be inspired to take a little more time wrapping your next present, because after seeing all this delicious stuff, I feel like I want to go buy more stuff to wrap a couple more gifts!

Hope this inspires you to wrap something a little extra nice this Christmas....

Dreaming of a White Christmas

After the usual red & green, white is our favorite Christmas color. So why not give your space a light, airy feeling this holiday season with shades of winter white? Textured pieces will add depth & dimension to your home, textures like feathers or botanicals create visual interest. The best part about white is that it looks beautiful in your home long after the holiday season is over.
Here are a few of my favorite pieces for a white Christmas.

Cozy Sort of Morning

Good Morning Everyone!

photo via pinterest
It is Saturday finally- I don't know about you, but I could hardly wait for the weekend! You know that feeling when you were in school as a kid & the last two weeks before winter break went by entirely too slow? I am beginning to have that feeling- as well as my fellow co-workers! Luckily, our office gets the week in between Christmas & New Years off every year, so I am counting down the days until our mini winter break!

Well, now that I have gotten that off my chest, it is time to enjoy this lovely weekend! I hope everyone will enjoy your weekend...we only have one more after this & then it's Christmas time!
